Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has welcomed Lord Hill, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools, to Brighton & Hove. The visit will take place tomorrow.
Lord Hill is coming to Hove to meet staff and students at BHASVIC (Brighton Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College) before visiting the brand new Bilingual Primary School. The Bilingual Primary School has been set up with the support of the Government and local Conservative councillors – especially Cllr andrew Wealls – and was officially opened last week.
Lord Hill of Oareford has responsibility for academics, free schools, university technical colleges and independent schools.
Commenting, Mike said: “I am delighted that Lord Hill will be coming to Brighton & Hove to see two of the city’s excellent schools. It is quite right that those in positions of power see our schools in action. Discussion with teachers and pupils are is incredibly important too. I hope that Lord Hill enjoys his visit and sees what superb schools we have in Brighton & Hove.”
