Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has joined the newly formed Blue Collar Conservatives group, which aims to help widen the Party’s base by attracting a new generation of blue collar voters through communicating shared values.
Blue Collar Conservatism (BCC) was founded by a group of Conservative MPs out of a belief that only Conservatives can genuinely champion the interests of hard-working, ‘blue collar’, voters. BCC will make the positive case for blue collar voters to support the Conservatives, based on the shared values of hard work, aspiration and responsibility. For more information on BCC, visit www.bluecollarconservatism.com.
Commenting, Mike said: “This new group has been set up in order to help communicate with the large blue collar demographic. Indeed, one of Blue Collar Conservatives’ chief aims is to influence the Party’s 2015 manifesto in order to support these workers. In this respect alone, Blue Collar Conservatives is a fantastic initiative.”
