Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is delighted to announce that his colleague Brandon Lewis MP will be coming to Hove. Mr Lewis has accepted Mike’s invitation to visit Off the Fence, a local homelessness charity, on Thursday 17th January.
Brandon Lewis MP is the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government. As part of his portfolio, he is responsible for local government, which includes homelessness. Mike felt that given the homelessness problems facing Brighton & Hove, it was important to show a Government Minister how the issue is being addressed locally.
Commenting, Mike said: “It is excellent news that a Government Minister will be visiting Hove. Right away I thought that one of the best places for Brandon to visit would be Off the Fence, a fantastic local charity that has a first-rate homelessness programme. I know that Brandon will be impressed by the services offered by Off the Fence and will be able to report back to Whitehall on how things should be done.”
