Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is backing the British Heart Foundation’s Rock up in Red day on Friday 1st February.
February is National Heart Month and Rock up in Red kickstarts the British Heart Foundation’s annual awareness campaign to ensure that people maintain a healthy heart and help raise funds for the Foundation’s life-saving work. Over 2.7 million people currently suffer with heart disease and it is the UK’s single biggest killer, with over 80,000 deaths each year. Commenting, Mike said: “Keeping fit and healthy so that you take care of your heart should be a priority in life. However, I know that it is all too easy to neglect one’s health, which is why awareness programmes, like National Heart Month, are so important. I will be wearing red on Friday 1st.”
