Following another fall in unemployment locally, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has again reiterated that the Government’s economic recovery is working.
The Office for National Statistics has confirmed that the number of unemployed claimants in Hove and Portslade in March 2013 was 2,106. Encouragingly, the number of claimants is 288 lower than in March 2012 and 77 lower than in February 2013.
Commenting, Mike said: “It is positive news that we have seen another fall in unemployment in Hove and Portslade. My Government colleagues and I will continue to work hard in Westminster to help bring down these kinds of figures even more over the coming years and address issues stifling our economy, so that new jobs can be created.”
