I find it interesting that the Brighton and Hove Labour Party are supporting the GMB union in the on going CityClean dispute.
This seems a total conflict of interest, not only due to the fact that the Labour Party and GMB union share offices in Hove, but they also receive financial support from them.
The council is, quite rightly, trying to negotiate fairness for all council workers, and in particular ensuring that women receive equal pay to men for doing the same type of work.
It is opportunistic for the Brighton and Hove Labour Party to try to undermine this process while offering no practical alternative solution.
