Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is backing Employee Ownership Day, at a time when businesses that are employee-owned continue to grow and have a fantastic annual turnover of over Ł30 billion per annum.
Thursday 4th July is the first national Employee Ownership Day. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of employee ownership – where employees have both a voice in how a business is run through employee engagement and a stake in its success. Commenting, Mike said: “The rise of co-owned businesses is clearly evidence of the success of this business model. Having a stake in a business is an excellent way to boost productivity, job satisfaction as well as provide job security. I’m backing Employee Ownership Day as increasing awareness of employee ownership is a positive direction for new and existing businesses.”
