Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is backing Employee Ownership Day, at a time when businesses that are employee-owned continue to grow and have a fantastic annual turnover of over £30 billion per annum.
Thursday 4th July is the first national Employee Ownership Day. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of employee ownership – where employees have both a voice in how a business is run through employee engagement and a stake in its success. Commenting, Mike said: “The rise of co-owned businesses is clearly evidence of the success of this business model. Having a stake in a business is an excellent way to boost productivity, job satisfaction as well as provide job security. I’m backing Employee Ownership Day as increasing awareness of employee ownership is a positive direction for new and existing businesses.”
