Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is urging local residents and businesses to send him their views on a proposal by Gatwick Airport to expand in order to meet demand for extra aviation capacity.
Gatwick Airport, Britain’s second largest airport and the busiest single-runway airport in the world, has submitted a proposal to the Airports Commission for a second runway, positioned to the south of the current site. For more information on the bid, click here.
Commenting, Mike said: “The operators of Gatwick have submitted an important proposal which has the potential to help our local economy. Brighton & Hove has a large number of people who work within the airline industry and the expansion of Gatwick could mean a huge amount of investment will come our way, which is why I hope that local residents and businesses will let me know how they feel about the proposal.”
