Over the weekend, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, joined ramblers in a walk around Hove.
Mike was pleased that the ramblers took the opportunity of walking with him to highlight a number of issues that the rambling community face. During the walk, specific concerns were raised about the plans for the England Coast Path, the completion of which has been delayed.
Given the lack of a clear timetable on the completion of the path, Mike has written to his colleague the Rt Hon Owen Paterson MP, Secretary of State for Food, Environment & Rural Affairs, for clarification on the matter. Commenting, Mike said: “Walking around parts of my beautify constituency with a dedicated group of ramblers was great fun, a good opportunity for exercise and an excellent time to discuss some of the issues that affect these dedicated walkers. I was only too happy to write to my colleague Owen Paterson MP, to raise some concerns that the Ramblers had with the implementation of the England Coast Path.”
