Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has backed the Post Office’s nation-wide investment programme and welcomed plans for the refurbishment of a busy Post Office in the heart of his constituency.
The Post Office is converting around 6,000 branches around the country into new main style branches. The Post Office at 104 Portland Road in Hove will close at the end of the day on Friday 27th September and re-open on Wednesday 9th October as a newly-styled branch. One important benefit of the change will be longer opening hours.
Commenting, Mike said: “I am pleased that the Post Office is upgrading its branches right across the country. Locally, this upgrade of a busy Post Office will be a helpful new amenity for residents of the Portland Road area. Also, by extending its opening hours, it shows that the Post Office is listening to what customers want from their local branch. I look forward to popping in when it re-opens.”
