Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is backing the winter appeal of local homeless charity Off The Fence, as the Autumn comes to an end.
Off The Fence has organised a number of fundraising activities in the coming months, starting with the Big Sleepout on Saturday 16th November. Next year, a Nightwalk is to be held on Saturday 15th February and a March Celebration will be taking place on Saturday 15th March.
Off The Fence provides vital services to the most vulnerable and marginalised in our local community. The charity works in the three areas: Street homelessness; women facing times of crisis; schools and youth. A dedicated team of Off The Fence staff are supported by an enthusiastic and committed group of more than 80 volunteers. For more information and to donate, please see www.offthefence.org.uk.
Commenting, Mike said: “Charities like Off The Fence massively rely on the generosity of the public. People often ask how they can help those who are homeless, so supporting an initiative like Off The Fence is a positive way to do this. Paul Young, Chief Executive of Off The Fence, does a tremendous job working with some of the most vulnerable people in our society, but this can only continue with financial help from residents. If you can help, please do get in touch.”
