Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has been working with local Newsagent owner Manish Gadhavi, to help him get the National Lottery back in Hove Newsagents. Mike has also backed a petition which calls for Camelot, the National Lottery operator, to reinstate the National Lottery Terminal.
Manish Gadhavi, the new proprietor of Hove Newsagents, has gathered almost 1,000 signatures to his petition for the National Lottery to return to the Newsagents, which until last year had a Lottery terminal since the National Lottery began in 1994. Mike has already written to the Chief Executive of Camelot to raise this matter. Having not received immediate help from Camelot, Manish decided to launch a petition to highlight local support.
Commenting, Mike said: “Having worked with Manish, I was surprised that Camelot cannot be more flexible by reinstating a National Lottery terminal at the popular Hove Newsagents, where until recently it has sold lottery tickets since 1994. Not having National Lottery facilities does affect the trade of a small business, so I hope that Camelot can resolve this issue as a matter of urgency. The ease that Manish got hundreds of signatures for his petition speaks for itself.”
