Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has backed plans for the exciting expansion to Brighton, Hove and Sussex Sixth Form Centre (BHASVIC). Student applications at the college have risen by around 10% since it was given the top mark of ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
On Wednesday 29th January BHASVIC received a green light from Brighton & Hove City Council for a new teaching bloc, which will provide modern facilities for around 100 further students, as well as modernising the existing refectory and the staff room.
Commenting, Mike said: “BHASVIC is a fantastic institution so I am delighted that its plans to grow have been approved by Brighton & Hove City Council. The consistently high quality of the teaching has predictably led to increased demand for places and it is heartening to know that more local students will get the opportunity to be a part of this outstanding college.”
