Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has attended WhaleFest, an international whale festival that was held in Brighton & Hove on 14th-16th March.
WhaleFest is the world’s biggest celebration of wild whales and dolphins, and is attended by hundreds of activists. Mike met with campaigners from IFAW, the International Fund for Wild Animals, to discuss what they are doing to protect whales. Mike is pictured signing a pledge for the International Fund for Animal Welfare (www.ifaw.org) against the serving of whale meat in Iceland’s restaurants. Commenting, Mike said: “Whales are an incredibly beautiful species that need special protection right across the planet. It was an eye-opening experience attending WhaleFest and nice to see so many dedicated activists championing their cause. I was delighted to back IFAW’s campaign against serving whale meat in Iceland’s restaurants.”
