As work begins on the installation of a huge new solar PV panel installation in Portslade, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has praised the Brighton Energy Co-Operative for their pioneering renewable energy scheme, as the number of panels grows.
On Monday 16th June, work began on installing a 200kw array on top of a shed in Shoreham Port. Over the next 18 months, the Brighton Energy Co-Operative hopes to double its current capacity. Mike has been so impressed with the project that earlier in the year, Mike invested £300 in the scheme. For more information on the Brighton Energy Co-Operative, click here.
Commenting, Mike said: “The Brighton Energy Co-Operative is a brilliant initiative that has gone from strength to strength. I was delighted to learn that the next phase of work has begun and hope that more residents from the city will back this clean energy scheme.”
