Help us to keep up the good work says Andrew

Goldsmid Ward Council by-election candidate, Andrew Wealls, is reminding the voters of the Ward what has been achieved in Brighton and Hove in the two years since the Conservatives have been running the Council.

In a leaflet going to voters in Goldsmid, Andrew reminds residents that the Conservative Council has:

·         saved over £10m of tax-payers money through efficiency savings;

·         the smallest increase in Council Tax in the City's history;

·         improved service standards for vulnerable residents;

·         worked to implement a major reinvestment in local Council housing;

·         undertaken urgent works on the King Alfred to ensure it is open for residents to use.

Andrew urges voters to help him keep up the good work and not return the Council to the days prior to May 2007 when Council Tax went up by 124% in 10 years, the refuse collection service was one of the most expensive in the country, plans for improving and investing in council homes were non-existent after tenants voted against Labour's plans for their homes and the Council's services were rated as less than excellent.

Andrew said: 'Since May 2007 Conservative good-houskeeping, efficient management and better value for money has been delivering higher standards for residents and now the Council' services are rated as excellent by an independent watchdog. We need to keep up this good work and as Councillor for Goldsmid that's what I shall spend my time doing for all residents of the area.'
