I grew up in
I work as a nurse and specialise in the field of breast cancer research where I manage the care for patients with breast cancer who are receiving treatment as part of a clinical trial. It is a really exciting job as I have had the opportunity to work on some of the trials which have had a huge impact on changing the treatment for breast cancer.
I wanted to become a councillor as I was becoming increasingly unhappy with the direction the city was going in, as residents seemed to be having less and less influence on key decisions that were being made.
I am very proud to have been elected to represent the people of Moulsecoomb and Bevendean as their local councillor as I lived in the ward for over 5 years when I first moved to the city. As their councillor I want to act as a voice for residents in Moulsecoomb and Bevendean and represent their concerns and issues.
Becoming a councillor has been a huge learning curve but I would encourage anyone who wants to make a difference to their community to think about doing it. Being a conservative councillor has been an added bonus as you get so much support and help from the more experienced members of the team.
I serve on the following committees; Adult Social care and Health, Sustainability and Housing Management Sub.
