Ann Norman

Ann was born in Eaton Place, Brighton and went to school at the Convent of the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic School in Eastern Road, Brighton.

Ann’s working career was spent firstly at Roedean School and then the University of Sussex and she was elected to represent Westdene Ward in 1996 in what would become in 1997, the newly formed Brighton and Hove Unitary Authority Council.

Ann has chaired the Brighton and Hove Music Trust for a number of years, is currently a Governor at Westdene Primary School and is a Trustee at the Martlets Hospice.

Ann was Mayor of the city of Brighton and Hove 2009/2010.

Ann is married to Ken who is also a Councillor for Withdean Ward and away from politics she spends time with her husband, friends, dogs, her love of Bonsai and all kinds of gardening. She also has a deep interest in music and dance of all kinds.
