Mike has condemned funding cuts to the Brighton & Hove Music Service that the Green administration has proposed.

Mike is the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Music Education and is extremely concerned that cuts will have a negative impact on the access and promotion of music in Brighton & Hove. The Music Service has been rated outstanding for three years running by the Federation of Music Services.

Commenting, Mike said: The cuts that the Green administration has planned for the Music Service will have a massively detrimental impact on music and music education in the city. Having been praised nationally for the creative music opportunities for children, its outrageous that this service is being cut when a 3 million grant is being turned down from central government and council tax is being raised by 3.5%.
