50m Broadband Investment Announced in Budget Welcomed by Mike


Mike has welcomed the 50m ultra-fast broadband investment for smaller cities like Brighton & Hove.

George Osborne MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer, announced in the budget today that a new fund of 50m will be made available to smaller cities that missed out on the initial investment allocated by the Government. Mike and Simon Kirby MP both wrote to the Chancellor and met with ministers to discuss ultra-fast broadband for Brighton & Hove.

Commenting, Mike said: The announcement in the budget that 50m is being made available for broadband investment smaller cities like Brighton & Hove is excellent news. Ultra-fast broadband is essential to maintaining our cities unique position as a hub for creative industries.
