Mike is supporting an Early Day Motion which calls on the Government to review the law concerning the removal of violent ex-partners from joint tenancies.

Early Day Motion 2734 highlights the tragic reality that victims of domestic violence face and urges the Government review legislation so that perpetrators are automatically removed from any joint tenancy that they share with an ex-partner who was a victim of their crime.

Commenting, Mike said: This Early Day Motion raises awareness of the plight faced by abused partners across the country and I am pleased that this issue has received broad cross-party support. I recently wrote to Brighton & Hove City Council about their housing policy for victims of domestic violence and will be discussing their response with colleagues.
