Mike is holding a competition to find the best South Asian restaurant in his constituency. The winner will be put forward as Hove and Portslade’s entrant in the 2012 Tiffin Cup.
Mike is calling again upon local curry houses to choose a main course from their standard menu. A vote will then be held to pick the winner. Not only will the winning restaurant receive local recognition of its excellence, it will also have the opportunity to compete in the House of Commons with the country’s top curry-creators for the coveted Tiffin Cup itself.
Last year, the restaurant that received the most nominations in Hove was Ganges Brasserie which went on to become a finalist in the national competition. In 2010, Mike and his panel of judges nominated Indian Kitchen, which went on to be Highly Commended.
Mike said, “I was extremely impressed with the standard of the entrants last year and the year before. Hove and Portslade have some great restaurants and I am confident that, this time, we can bring the Tiffin Cup home.”
