Mike is calling for residents to help Off The Fence raise £250,000 to buy their office in Hove.
Off The Fence is looking to purchase 37 Portland Road, their main office where both the Antifreeze Centre and Schools Team are located. The building is used extensively by Project Antifreeze, which through its work with the homeless has helped rough sleepers in the city receive food, clothes and counselling in over 7400 instances last year alone.
Off The Fence provides vital services to the most vulnerable and marginalised in the community. The charity works in the three areas: Street homelessness; women facing times of crisis; schools and youth. A dedicated team of Off The Fence staff are supported by an enthusiastic and committed group of more than 80 volunteers. For more information and to donate, please see www.offthefence.org.uk.
Commenting, Mike said: “Off the fence plays a vital role in Hove and Portslade. Like most charities, they rely on support from the public and I urge anyone who can help at all to raise funds for their offices in Portland Road to get in touch directly. The work that project Antifreeze undertakes with homeless people in the city is nothing short of remarkable.”
