Mike Signs Parliamentary Motion on World Hunger

Mike has signed Early Day Motion 69 in support of a renewed commitment to tackling world hunger and poverty.

With the UK assuming the presidency of the G8 next year, this is an excellent opportunity for Members of Parliament to highlight the continuing plight of food shortages across the world.

Commenting, Mike said: “Sustainable access to food is paramount to alleviating hunger around the world and tackling the issues that surround poverty. With the access that we have to food in Britain, it’s easy to forget that for hundreds of millions of people around the world having even one adequate meal a day is not even an option. I am pleased that this motion has received cross-party support and will work with my colleagues to help achieve these new commitments on nutrition and food security.”
