Mike Condemns EcoStream Protests

Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has condemned the weekly protests by anti-Israeli groups which have descended into harassment of a new business in the city.

Mike has been contacted by a number of constituents who were alarmed by the behaviour of protesters outside EcoStream on Western Road. Mike has written to Graham Bartlett of Sussex Police and Catherine Vaughan, Chief Executive of Brighton & Hove City Council to raise his concerns over the harassment. EcoStream is a new refill store where customers can top up household products, beauty products and ingredients without having to buy new containers every time. Commenting, Mike said: “It’s absolutely unacceptable that a new business, that has brought much needed jobs to the city, is being harassed on a weekly basis in this way. I have written to Sussex Police and Brighton & Hove City Council with my constituents’ concerns. I will not stand idly by and let misguided fringe groups intimidate my constituents.“
