Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has backed Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s new campaign Save More Lives at a recent in meeting in Parliament.
At the event, Mike, along with a number of his colleagues, heard how they can influence the NHS and save lives by increasing awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, promoting early diagnosis, and ensuring access to the best possible screening services for eligible women. By backing the campaign, Mike is supporting Breakthrough’s aim of making sure that everyone with breast cancer has access to the right personalised treatment. Commenting, Mike said: “Breast cancer is still the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK and an estimated 1,000 lives could be saved every year in England alone if breast cancer survival rates matched the best in Europe. I want to reassure residents that I will continue to work with my colleagues in Parliament to ensure that the Government continues its fight against breast cancer.”
