Mike Backs Clean Wave Petition

Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has backed a petition by Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) which aims to highlight the value of waves as a cultural, social, economic and environmental asset to coastal communities.

Mike has backed the Protect Our Waves petition which calls for Parliament to debate the economic and intrinsic value of UK surfing waves and beaches. SAS hopes to get over 100,000 signatures which may lead to the issue being debated in the House of Commons. To sign the petition, click here. Commenting, Mike said: Ensuring that the sea and our beaches are kept clean is paramount. As a Member of Parliament with a famous coastline, I have a responsibility to protect this wonderful asset and was more than happy to sign the SAS petition. I look forward to a debate on this important matter in Parliament.
