Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has today welcomed his colleague Brandon Lewis MP, a Minister in the Department for Communities & Local Government, to Hove in a visit to Off the Fence, a local homelessness charity.
Brandon and Mike met with staff and volunteers at Off the Fence in Portland Road, Hove, and discussed a number of issues and challenges facing the charity. Brandon Lewis MP is the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government. As part of his portfolio Brandon is responsible for local government.
Commenting, Mike said: “Today’s visit was a fantastic showcase to the Government of what a successful homelessness project can do. I know that Brandon was particularly impressed with the programmes that Off the Fence offer and will certainly be feeding back this information to the Department for Communities & Local Government.”
Commenting, Brandon said: “Off the Fence is a wonderful local charity that is doing a tremendous job working with homeless people in Hove and I will certainly be taking a number of issues back with me to my Department. Of course, all of this would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of the staff and volunteers at Off the Fence.”
