Following another fall in unemployment locally, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has again reiterated that the Government’s economic recovery is working.
The Office for National Statistics has confirmed that the number of unemployed claimants in Hove and Portslade in May 2013 was 1,973. Encouragingly, the number of claimants is 185 lower than in May 2012 and 101 lower than in April 2013.
Commenting, Mike said: “It is good news that we have seen another fall in unemployment locally. My Government colleagues and I will continue to work hard in Westminster to help bring down these kinds of figures even more over the coming years as we address issues holding back our economy, to create an environment where new jobs can thrive.”
