Mike Encourages Residents to Nominate Local Kebab Restaurants

Following the first Kebab & Retail Awards earlier this year, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is encouraging residents to nominate their favourite local kebab restaurant for the 2014 kebab awards.

The Kebab & Retail Awards held their inaugural event in Parliament in January. Nominations are now open for the 2014 awards and Mike hopes that residents from Hove and Portslade will take part. The deadline for nominations is Monday 15th December.

Awards will be given in the following categories:

• Best Delivery Restaurant
• Best Newcomer Restaurant
• Best Kebab Restaurant
• Young Restaurateur of the Year
• Best Chef Awards
• Best-related Business within the Catering Industry
• Outstanding Contribution to the Kebab Industry

Commenting, Mike said: “Hove and Portslade have a plethora of popular kebab restaurants, so I hope that residents will take part in the 2014 awards. Since my election I have enthusiastically supported the annual Tiffin Cup award, which recognises excellence in South Asian restaurants. The Kebab & Retail Awards is an excellent new competition that will further highlight high standards of restaurants across the country. I wish my local takeaways the best of luck.”
