Mike Wishes Jewish Residents a Happy Hanukkah

As residents make preparations for the important festival of Hanukkah, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has wished his Jewish constituents a Happy Hanukkah.

This year, Hanukkah – the festival of lights – begins at sunset on Wednesday 27th November and ends at nightfall on Thursday 5th December. Hove and Portslade have a large and vibrant Jewish population and Mike is keen to extend his good wishes to this important community.

Since his election in 2010, Mike has visited a number of the synagogues in Hove to discuss a range of important issues that affect his Jewish constituents.

Commenting, Mike said: “Hanukkah is an important Jewish festival, steeped in ancient tradition over the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. I know that many Jewish residents are looking forward to celebrating Hanukkah, so I want to take this opportunity to wish all those who are observing this festival a Happy Hanukkah.”
