Mike Encourages Businesses to Sign up to Broadband Funding

Following an allocation of funding from Central Government, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is encouraging organisations from across the city to sign up for superfast broadband support.

Back in 2012, Mike was instrumental in helping to secure a budget from Central Government for cities like Brighton & Hove to receive special funding for faster broadband speeds. The SuperConnected Cities broadband project allocated £50m to small cities around the country.

On a local level, the Connection Voucher Scheme provides funding of up to £3,000 for small businesses and charities or voluntary organisations to access faster broadband connection speeds. For more details on the scheme and for an application form, click here.

Commenting, Mike said: “Fast broadband is a vital tool for businesses, which is why the Connection Voucher Scheme will be so helpful to organisations across Brighton & Hove. It’s easy to sign up, so I hope that anyone who is interested in the initiative will check to see if they are eligible and apply.”
