Mike Visits All Saints to Witness Vandalism First-Hand

Mike next to broken window

Following the Christmas Day theft and vandalism at All Saints Church, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, visited the church to see for himself the destruction that was caused by the selfish vandals.

Whilst visiting the church, Mike met with Fr. Phil Ritchie, who showed him the consequences of the break-in. Mike highlighted last month how he was furious that callous thieves broke into All Saints Church on Christmas Day and left a trail of destruction by breaking precious stained glass windows, stealing money from a collection box and causing damage that will cost more than £10,000 to repair.

All Saints has launched a major appeal to raise money to restore the historic stained glass, which was made worse by the recent break-in and vandalism. For information how to help, click here.

Commenting, Mike said: “It was such a shame to see the broken windows at All Saints. While this sad event has left an obvious mark on the church, I have been inspired by the positive attitude that Fr. Phil Ritchie and the congregation have taken towards the repairs. If any residents wants to help out, even in a small way, I would urge them to contact All Saints directly.”
