Artists’ Open Houses are Key to Brighton Festival

Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has praised the Artists’ Open Houses festival as doors across the city prepare to open to visitors on Saturday 3rd May.

Artists’ Open Houses is a unique festival that runs twice a year – during the Brighton Festival and for three weekends in November and December. Visitors can view an array of work from contemporary and original local artists and craft makers in their homes, as well as meet the artists and buy their work directly from them.

This year, the Artists’ Open Houses takes place from Saturday 3rd May to Sunday 25th May. For more information on the Open Houses, visit www.aoh.org.uk.

Commenting, Mike said: “For me, the Artists’ Open Houses is now one of the best parts of the Brighton Festival. I love exploring the various houses around my constituency as well as talking to the artists about their work. Buying directly from artists is a wonderful experience and is a great way to support some of the extraordinary local talent that Brighton & Hove has to offer.”
