As the Brighton Festival continues throughout May, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is hoping that residents will take advantage of what is on offer over the weekend.
The Brighton Festival was founded in 1965 and, together with the Brighton Fringe, is now the largest arts festival in England. It attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to Brighton & Hove each year. Mike is particularly looking forward to a number of events that are taking place in both Hove and Portslade.
Brighton Festival is on now and finishes on Sunday 25th May. For more information on Brighton Festival events, visit www.brightonfestival.org. The Brighton Fringe 2014 is also on now and finishes on Sunday 1st June. For more information on Fringe events, visit www.brightonfringe.org.
Commenting, Mike said: “The weather looks set to be warm and sunny this weekend, so I am sure that festival events will be very popular. Among other events, I’m a big fan of the Artists Open Houses so hope to see for myself some of our city’s fantastic artistic talent. Let’s get behind the festival to make 2014 the most supported yet.”
