Mike Meets with Ramblers in Parliament

Mike Weatherley MP with Benedict Southworth, Ramblers CEO

At a recent event in Parliament, Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, met with ramblers to discuss how they can promote walking across the country.

Mike has previously joined ramblers in Hove for a walk around the constituency where they discussed walking issues. Following their walk, Mike wrote to his colleague the Rt Hon Owen Paterson MP, Secretary of State for Food, Environment & Rural Affairs, about delays in the creation of the England Coast Path.

Ramblers from the national rambling group attended the House of Commons recently to meeting with MPs so that they could highlight the importance of walking. For more information on rambling, visit www.ramblers.org.uk.

Commenting, Mike said: “Walking is a fantastic exercise that is free, good for your health and good for the environment. I was pleased to have the opportunity to discuss rambling issues with representatives from the national ramblers group and will be sure to press for policies that will benefit walkers right across the country.”
