At Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee on 23-01-18, Conservative Councillors raised concerns about the costs to relocate Cityparks’ depot to Hangleton Bottom.

£745,000 Vs £160,000 – How Can Two Similar Schemes Be So Wildly Different?

Conservative Spokesperson, Cllr. Lee Wares said “We were perplexed to see a £745,000 shed and office building proposal in ETS papers when coming to Policy, Resources & Growth Committee is a Kennel scheme on the same site of similar size, design and configuration costing just £160,000; how can two similar schemes be so wildly different in cost terms?”

The Chaotic Labour Administration Should Get a Grip of This Mess

Cllr. Wares added “We agree in principle with the relocation of the depot, but The Labour Administration should get a grip of this mess, go back to the drawing board and start to get its dysfunctional Administration to do some joined up work and bring these schemes back to Councillors improving the construction cost economies of scale, reducing duplication and stop wasting public money’.
