Ann’s working career was spent in the Science Department at Roedean School, and as a Physics Technician at the University of Sussex.
She is very active in the community as a Trustee of the Martlets Hospice and Keep Active, Governor of the Westdene Primary School since 1996, Vice President of the Hove Gardening Club, Friend of the Brighton Theatre Group, Member of Keep the Ridge Green Group, Supporter of The Withdean and Westdene and Eldred Avenue Copse Keepers (TWEACK), a Friend of Withdean Park and a Supporter of Friends of Westdene Green (FOWG).
Ann is a Brightonian born and bred. She attended the Convent of the Blessed Sacrament School, Eastern Road, Brighton. Her mother, Gladys Morrison, was a Brighton Councillor, representing Preston Park Ward from 1966 to 1973.
A fan of Brighton and Hove Albion, she was taken to see a home game by her parents at age four. At that time, small children were handed over the turnstiles and not charged for entry. Ann was twice injured during crowd disturbances, which did not put her off, as she is currently a 1901 Club Member waiting for promotion to the Premier League.
Ann counts as her outstanding political achievement continuing to be re-elected to champion Withdean residents. Outside of politics she is Vice President of the Sussex Bonsai Group.
She prides herself that every Withdean resident’s query has been investigated regardless of political affiliation or none at all.
